We know it’s been difficult to find alternative things to do on the weekend since government regulations forbid anyone from going onto our beautiful beaches. Well, we’ve just made it a little easier for you. Below we have listed just a few fun things to do to fill that empty space in your weekend that would usually be spent on the beach catching a tan and swimming in the ocean.

1. Walking on the promenade

This is probably the most obvious thing to do on the weekend because while going onto the beach is currently illegal, walking on the promenade is perfectly legal and you can actually make quite a lovely day out of it, for example, you can start your walk down by Willards beach and make your way down the promenade all the way to Clarke Bay and grab a coffee, sit at one of the benches along the promenade and enjoy your Brew.

2. Flag Animal Farm

A trip down to the Flag animal farm beach or no beach always makes out to be an awesome day out with the family or even on your own if you just want a day of relaxation They offer the likes of pony rides, the chance to feed chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, sheep, pigs and more, it also even has a daily milking show!

3. A microlight flight

Ballito has become quite well known for microlight flights and it’s no mystery as to why it’s so popular, Giving you a first-hand birds eye view of the beautiful Ballito Coastline. An absolutely amazing experience, unless you’re afraid of rights of course.

4. The Ballito Bowl

The newly renovated Ballito Bowl skate park makes for an awesome day out if you’re a skater or have kids that are into skating, take a picnic basket and some blankets down there and enjoy a lovely day out in nature while getting your skate on or, if you’re a parent watch your kiddies have fun rolling around inside the bowl.

5. Head down to a driving range

There’s nothing like heading down to a driving range with some mates to socialize and hit some golf balls. The great thing about going to a driving range is that you don’t even have to be good at golf, the goal is to simply hit the ball as hard as you can, this makes for some hilarious bloopers, missed swings, and a good laugh, but just remember… practice makes perfect. Two of the more popular driving ranges in Ballito are Cane Driving Range at Sugar Rush and Umhlali Country Club driving range.

6. 22 Jump Street Ballito Junction

A great place to go if you’re looking for a little arcade fun with the family, with tons of arcade games to choose from its the perfect place to burn a few hours without breaking the bank after a movie or lunch at one of the many restaurants at the mall.

7.Holla Trails

With over 300km of bike and walking/running trails through the farmlands of Ballito, you’ll never run out of new trails to explore whether you’re on foot or on your mountain bike this is definitely a full day outing.
