Salt Rock is well-known as the “gem” of the KwaDukuza Coast. The beach is a lovely experience for all. Its name originates from the King Shaka days; it is where the Zulu maidens collected salt off the rocks during the low tide. Traders use to trade goods for salt.
Salt Rock has a tidal pool that was originally built for the guests of the Salt Rock Hotel. This golden beach is nested amongst world-class golf courses.
The picturesque Indian Ocean at Salt Rock is a wonderful spot to swim or fish at, with the main beach having lifeguards on duty along with shark nets in the sea.
