I Love Ballito

French Provencal decor and design on the North Coast

When designer and businesswoman Jenna Jelliman moved back to the North Coast from the bustling city of Joburg, her goal was to set up the Ballito branch of their established and successful family business and grow a base of loyal customers who love handmade furniture and French Provencal-inspired interior designs.

Outgoing Jenna drives the local team with and is made for the role. Exuding loads of energy and enthusiasm matched with years of experience she handles client interactions, site visits, project management and the day to day running of the business – while juggling family and kids.  There’s no question though that when you meet Jenna you’ll understand why this family business has been successful for over 20 years.

House of Mangar specializes in French Provencal-inspired furniture and the Maingard family, (pronounced Mangar in French) has strong roots in Mauritius, moving to Durban over 60 years ago. The next generation of the family, close cousins and their children, decided to pool resources, skills, passions and talents to start a business manufacturing and selling quality crafted furniture and kitchens while offering full interior decorating solutions. With a passion for all things French, specializing in French Provencal style furniture was an easy choice. Two brothers and their cousins took up the challenge of designing and crafting the French style wooden furniture and have over 20 years’ experience in manufacturing quality furniture.

The talented team at House of Mangar, both in Ballito and Brynston, enjoy nothing more than working with customers to refresh their unique spaces with beautiful, colourful, interior designs and quality furniture. When it comes to interiors Jenna and the team will spend time in your home and work closely with you designing your dream interior no matter what style it is you looking for, even if not French Provencal.

Jenna’s mom, Janine, has headed up the Joburg branch for more than 12 years and has helped Jhb families who’ve relocated to the coast. It’s also fun to watch the rivalry between mom and daughter as they work on growing their respective branches but that’s where it ends in terms of competition, the rest of the time this powerful design duo burns the candle late delivering for their clients.

“A lot of people ask as well when we should get involved in a project. We as early as possible as we’re able to add insight from design and architecture to implementation and build. It’s our desire to work side by side with our clients to reach their dream end goal.” says Janine and Jenna
