Local surfer gone pro Shane Sykes who has lived in Salt Rock for 14 years loves it here in Ballito. Although he has been travelling for the last few years competing in overseas surfing comps Ballito is still very much in the centre of his heart.
“There’s nothing like home. The weather, the waves and my friends!” – Says Shane
This year he is taking a break from competing and has recently opened his own superfood bar called “Mí Acai Superfood Bar” which by the way make the most amazing Superfood smoothie bowls. On his break, he will be training hard for next year as well as surfing at his favourite surf spot within Ballito, Bogs Bay.
